agreed providing for the secondment
from the Chinese Maritime Customs of
officials to act under the orders of
the Hong Kong Customs Department
in the administration of supervision
over goods consigned to China.

addition, the Commissioner and Deputy
Commissioner of Customs were to have
an office in Hong Kong and to be
appointed by the Inspector-General of
Customs subject to the approval of the
Governor. Hong Kong undertook to
control the movements of all salt upon
import into or production in or export
from the Colony, and detailed provisions
were laid down for this purpose.
Chinese
or foreign goods passing through Hong Kong
under Chinese documents from one Treaty Port
to another were to maintain their original
